I couldn’t cope with getting another dog after losing my first dog when I was 19, it was also my first experience with loss. Years later, my mum and I were talking about looking for another, we talked about either a German shepherd or...a Husky.
The ManxSPCA didn’t have either at the time and we kind of gave up looking. Another year or so passed and my mum had a friend that just had a litter.. of huskies. All of them were snatched up apart from one, she was the ruby of the litter and definitely the cheekiest of all of them.
We called her Luna after the full moon that was present the first night she stayed with us. As she grew up I noticed she was very interested in the camera, so like many other dog owners, I took pictures with her.
I noticed that she was actually hilarious and her facial expressions were almost human-like. It was really bizarre! I began posting and one particular set of pictures went viral in 2018. She became a poster girl for the ManxSPCA, we had photoshoots and even we’re on LA news in America! The whole thing looking back was surreal. After all, it’s just me and my girl taking pictures!
